Gesso’s Belgian company has been founded in 1925 at a time when mouldings and other ceilings ornaments in plaster were systematically integrated in a traditional and neoclassical in Brussels.  Gesso produces and restores mouldings, rosettes, columns, fireplaces and bas-reliefs.

In 1965, the staff knows a certain disinterest.  Gesso undertakes a big freshening selection of its models and begins to develop a new and a more consistent range of style.

Gesso invest in research for new lighting products which are now part of the reputation of the company.

Mouldings and ornaments are definitely not forgotten.  Each year, several models from Gesso’s Heritage come back and join the catalog.

Gesso’s shop, a true Brussels institution, welcomes and advises contractors, architects, and all individuals wishing to enhance their homes.

The company also has teams of staffers who can respond to projects of all sizes whether in Belgium or abroad.  Their expertise is as skilled for new spaces as it is in retaining existing ornamental heritage.

In 2008 the company is still growing.  The nearly century-old workshop is replaced by a modern building outside Brussels.

With this move Gesso opens in industrial production while maintaining its fully traditional character.

Gesso has now over twenty employees, passionate of their craft and dedicated to this noble, ecological and totally creative material
